In the early 1900s, a bobbin mill was built in Ste-Edwidge. The mill was activated by the water of stream flowing nearby.
After the plant closed in
the 30s, the stream was renamed “Bobbin Brook” in memory of the defunct mill.
In 1980, following four years of experimentation, a trout farm opened in Ste-Edwidge. This farm
was named “Bobines”, because the water supply stems from the Bobbin Brook.
In 1989, a new HACCP-approved site in East Hereford was opened to help increase production.
