In 1997
and 1998, the sunflower was a new culture. The year 1999 led us to carry out tests on the
side of leguminous plants intended for the human consumption, including three varieties of
yellow peas, one of chickpea, one of lens and one of quinoa. In 1999 and 2000, we will put
at least one of these products on the retail and wholesale market and research continues
for others.
In 1999,
we had the answers and solutions to our questions and problems on the control of culture
and harvest of industrial hemp. To this end, the company has carried out agronomic tests
as well as on the level of equipment of harvest for already three years. In year 2000, we
direct our search in the processing sector of the grain of industrial hemp.
To
that, follows search for the product transformation and the beginnings of exploitation of
a factory of transformation of grains for human consumption. In the spring of 2001, an
agronomist will be added to the team Of "The Golden Crops".

For
the transformation of products the pilot project being conclusive, year 2000 is the
beginning of the exploitation of a factory aiming the transformation of grains for human
consumption. In the beginning, the factory is intended for the production of soya, rolled
oats and other varieties.
In parallel, the company carries out the sifting, dehusking, polishing
of cereals, oilseeds and leguminous plants and if need be, a pre-transformation of cereals
and oilseeds to feed the organic flour mills and other applications in organic feeding.
And being added to
all this a service of transport by road and by rail with transshipment via the station of
Coaticook, the only one in Quebec which is dedicated exclusively to the organic grain.
Partly, all this is
carried out thanks to the team which will carry out a professional work and which by their
effort, launches the company towards the future.
