The great adventure started in 1960
with the plantation of 400 apple trees. In 1968, that is to say a few years later, we
decided to add other apple trees, for a total today of 10 000 trees. In 1982,
after having lived a difficult winter and having lost about half of our trees, we decided
to diversify the production and we planted 1400 pear trees and 250 plum trees. This
initiative is crowned success.
For about 20 years, we have offered the self-gathering to our customers, but it is
especially in 1988 that this new option became very popular. With apples, pears and plums
to be gathered, people all the more appreciate self-gathering.
At the time of your visit to the
Ferland Orchard, you will be able to gather your fruits (apples, pears and plums), ride
the tractor, admire our marvellous landscapes, picnic, eat corn on the cob freshly cooked,
taste our pastries (maple sirup donnuts, pie, aplle bread, homemade bread) and visit our
stand where you will find our homemade products (jelly, jams, marinades, honey, cider,
vinegar, etc.) more than 25 homemade products.
We
also offer a catering service for groups of 10 people and more. We put at your disposale,
a room olding 250 persons. At your request, we can offer a meal with animation.
