In 2017, Marie-Pierre Dubeau and Sébastien Grandmont, co-owners of the Petit Mas, won the 2017 Succession Prize awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as well as being nominated for the prestigious Young Farmers competition of Elite Canada.
These awards and nominations bear witness to the quality of the next generation of farmers in Québec and underline, amongst other things, the management qualities, the professional skills of young entrepreneurs, and the technical expertise. After acquiring the family business in 2013, Marie-Pierre and Sébastien became owners of a land in Martinville of 106 acres, 40 of which are cultivable.
Through the years, the company has grown going from 4 acres of organic cultivation in 2013 to 28 acres in 2017. With this expansion, the Petit Mas is unquestionably positioned as a leader in organic garlic cultivation in Québec.
